Tanzania has been an attractive place to visit for a lot of people from students to athletes to actors across Hollywood and Bollywood, to name a few people like David Beckham, Justin Timberlake, George Clooney, Lionel Messi, Sunjay Dutt, Bill Gates was also there, all of them have been to Tanzania and enjoyed their adventurous, luxurious and comfortable stay. Let’s begin with a “pinch” of its history, Tanganyika was colonised by the Germans, then the British. In 1961 the country got its independence through an uprising of Julius Nyerere who was a teacher. In 1964 there was a union between Tanganyika and the neighbouring island Zanzibar it was then named Tanzania.

• The world’s earliest human skull was found in the Olduvai Gorge in Tanzania.
• Tanzania also houses the world’s largest volcanic crater, Ngorongoro, with a diameter of 19kms and is 600m deep.
So now we have a little background information, but what actually is popular in Tanzania, what do visitors do in Tanzania?
Let’s start off with animals, the African continent particularly Tanzania is famous when it comes to enjoying the wildlife scenery, places like Serengeti National Park, Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, there are actually too many to name! Visitors are never let down with the services here, having a good meal thereafter roaming in a safari car side by side with the tall giraffes, the calm zebras, the proud lions, the strong elephants and the beautiful natural scent that is intact in the nature, the breeze of fresh air, the squelching sound made by insects and the beautiful sunset scene, just a phenomenal experience. By the way, have you seen lions climbing trees? Surely not, but you’ll get to witness it at the Lake Manyara national park that lions do climb trees!
Tanzania is also surrounded by different lakes and rivers to name a few Lake Victoria, Lake Tanganyika, Lake Manyara, where activities like fishing are carried out, come and share the experience with the local fisherman, sailing in the salty water with their fishing nets, and the fish here are very tasty as well and used by a lot of locals for their everyday meals, a complete trip to Tanzania includes having fish as a main course meal for at least once. Lake Victoria is the largest tropical lake and second largest freshwater lake in the world and it is where the famous river Nile originates from.
Another amazing attraction is Mount Kilimanjaro the highest mountain in Africa its height being approximately around 5,900 metres (19,341 feet above sea level), there have been several visits from different people who have been interested in climbing this great mountain, which has several routes. Lionel Messi reached the top! The experience of climbing this mountain for all those who have attempted to reach the summit has been memorable for the rest of their lives, it’s just a different experience which tells you a lot about your patience, perseverance but again it’s a very pleasing and enjoying experience.
And how can we forget the beautiful, tropical islands, like Zanzibar, Pemba, Mafia Islands experiences of swimming with the dolphins, visiting the marine parks and having a stay at the most luxurious and comfortable hotels and cottages, by the beachside enjoying the view of the corals and the breeze of fresh air.
Another thing worth exploring is the different cultures which can be found in Tanzania, there are about 120 tribes in Tanzania everyone with a different way of dressing and living but never have we heard of any conflicts which makes Tanzania a peaceful country as well, out of the 120 the famous five are the Masai, the Hadzabe, the Sukuma, the Chagga and the Makonde tribes. Visiting the people of different tribes, staying with them, dressing like them and knowing the way of life has also interested a lot of people, it's surely an enjoyable experience as well.
Tanzania is not left behind when it comes to recreation centres apart from all the national parks and scenery, in cities like Dar-es-salaam (the largest city in the country), Arusha, Mwanza you can find a lot of malls, restaurants, zoos and water parks as well.
As mentioned earlier Tanzania posses a great amount of history and you can find historical sites like the Bismarck Rock in Mwanza, The Amboni caves in Pangani, and many other sites and buildings at the Bagamoyo region
